What This Study Did, in Plain Language

What Was Tested

This registered phase 1 trial tested Eloralintide.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate how well Eloralintide (LY3841136) is tolerated and what side effects may occur in overweight and obese Chinese participants.

The study drug will be administered subcutaneously (SC) (under the skin).

Blood tests will be performed to check how much Eloralintide gets into the bloodstream and how long it takes the body to eliminate it.

It had two arms (groups): Eloralintide (experimental) and Placebo (placebo comparator).

Eloralintide administered subcutaneously (SC).

Placebo administered SC.

The registry classes the interventions as drug.

Who Took Part

The registry lists 30 actual participants took part.

It was open to people of any sex aged from 21 years up to 65 years.

Healthy volunteers were not accepted; participants needed the condition being studied.

Examples of who could join: Chinese participants. To qualify as Chinese, all 4 of the participant's biological grandparents must be of exclusive Chinese descent and born in China. Have not modified diet or adopted any nutritional lifestyle modification for 3 months before randomization. Have a body mass index (BMI) within the range 27 to 40 kilogram per square meter (kg/m²).

How the Study Was Run

The set-up was randomized, parallel-group and double-blind.

Because people in this Eloralintide study were split into groups at random, differences between the groups are less likely to reflect who happened to join each one.

The Eloralintide group and the comparison group ran side by side rather than switching.

As a double-blind Eloralintide study, the assignments were hidden from both participants and investigators until the end.

Those kept unaware of assignments: participant and investigator.

It started in 2025-04-21 with completion listed for 2025-09-09.

It ran at 1 site in Singapore.

Its stated primary purpose is basic science.

What Was Measured

The main thing measured (primary outcome): Number of Participants with One or More Treatment Emergent Adverse Events (TEAEs) and Serious Adverse Event(s) (SAEs) Considered by the Investigator to be Related to Study Drug Administration (time frame: Baseline to Study Completion (Up to 10 Weeks)).

It also tracked 2 secondary outcomes, for example PK: Area Under the Concentration Versus Time Curve (AUC) of Eloralintide.

What This Means in Plain Language

Put simply, this is a phase 1, randomized trial of Eloralintide in 30 people.

Its size is small, so on its own it can only give an early look.

The trial is marked completed; no results are posted to the registry yet, so nothing here describes outcomes.

Our Notes on the Compound
