What This Study Did, in Plain Language

What Was Tested

This registered not phased trial tested Glutathione.

It had two arms (groups): Placebo sachet (placebo comparator) and Vitamin C and Glutathione Liquid Sachet (experimental).

The registry classes the interventions as dietary supplement.

More on the Plan

This study is a single-center, placebo-controlled, double-blinded, parallel human trial designed to evaluate the skin beauty and anti-oxidant effect of liquid vitamin C and glutathione supplements.

Healthy adult participants aged 18-65 years will be enrolled.

Participants will be informed to consume test samples daily for 12 consecutive weeks.

Skin measurement and self-assessment questionnaires will be conducted at baseline (before intake), after 4, 8 weeks, and 12 weeks of consumption.

Who Took Part

30 planned participants were the target.

It was open to people of any sex aged from 18 years up to 65 years.

Healthy volunteers could join, not only people with the condition.

Examples of who could join: Healthy male or female adults, aged 18-65 years old;. Commitment not to use products having activity comparable with that of the product to be tested during the study period;. Free of any dermatological or systemic disorder that would interfere with results.

The full record lists 3 inclusion and 6 exclusion criteria; among the exclusions: subject with obvious skin surface damage;; subject who had oral or topical medication which may affect skin condition within 1 month;; individuals with known allergies to cosmetics, medications, or foods (especially those allergic to legumes/soy);.

How the Study Was Run

Design: randomized, parallel-group and double-blind.

Random assignment meant chance, not the researchers, decided who got Glutathione and who got the comparison, which limits bias.

The Glutathione group and the comparison group ran side by side rather than switching.

As a double-blind Glutathione study, the assignments were hidden from both participants and investigators until the end.

Those kept unaware of assignments: participant and investigator.

It started in 2026-01-24 with completion listed for 2026-05-18.

It ran at 1 site in Taiwan.

Its stated primary purpose is treatment.

What Was Measured

Researchers chose this as the main measure: The change of skin tone (time frame: Change from Baseline skin tone at 12 weeks). The change of visible spots (time frame: Change from Baseline visible spots at 12 weeks). The change of UV spots (time frame: Change from Baseline UV spots at 12 weeks).

It also tracked 12 secondary outcomes, for example The change of skin hydration, The change of skin redness, The change of skin melanin index, The change of skin elasticity, The change of brown spots and The change of wrinkles around the eyes.

What This Means in Plain Language

Put simply, this is a not phased, randomized trial of Glutathione in 30 people.

Its size is small, so on its own it can only give an early look.

It is still recruiting; no results are posted to the registry yet, so nothing here describes outcomes.
