What This Study Did, in Plain Language
What Was Tested
The trial (not phased) is built around Vitamin D, K2, Magnesium and Zinc for anti-aging & longevity.
It had two arms (groups): Placebo Face-and-Neck Cream (placebo comparator) and Face-and-Neck Cream (active comparator).
Participants apply the Placebo Face-and-Neck Cream (base formulation without Vitamin K2) to the contralateral half of the face and neck. Used twice daily (morning and evening) for 8 weeks.
The registry classes the interventions as other.
Who Took Part
36 actual participants took part.
It was open to women only aged from 35 years up to 60 years.
Healthy volunteers could join, not only people with the condition.
Examples of who could join: Is a Chinese female aged between 35 and 60 years (inclusive). Presents with facial skin concerns including dryness, dullness, and laxity. Has crow's feet (outer canthus wrinkles) with a visual assessment grade of 2 to 4 (on a 0-6 scale). Self-reports concerns about neck wrinkles. Is in good general health at the time of screening.
The full record lists 7 inclusion and 7 exclusion criteria; among the exclusions: is planning pregnancy, is pregnant, lactating, or within 6 months postpartum; has a history of severe systemic diseases, immunodeficiency, or autoimmune diseases; has a history of allergic diseases or has experienced cosmetic allergies within the past 1-2 years.
How the Study Was Run
It was run as a randomized, parallel-group and triple-blind study.
Because people in this Vitamin D, K2, Magnesium and Zinc study were split into groups at random, differences between the groups are less likely to reflect who happened to join each one.
The Vitamin D, K2, Magnesium and Zinc group and the comparison group ran side by side rather than switching.
Blinding on both sides kept the anti-aging & longevity participants and researchers unaware of who received Vitamin D, K2, Magnesium and Zinc.
Those kept unaware of assignments: participant, investigator and outcomes assessor.
It started in 2024-12-26 with completion listed for 2025-02-20.
It ran at 1 site in China.
Its stated primary purpose is other.
What Was Measured
The main thing measured (primary outcome): Change in Facial Skin Elasticity (R0, R1 and F4) (time frame: At Baseline, Week 2, Week 4, and Week 8). Change in Roughness Parameters (Ra and Rz ) of Face and Neck Wrinkles (time frame: At Baseline, Week 2, Week 4, and Week 8). Change in Facial Sagging (Mandibular Plane Angle) (time frame: At Baseline, Week 2, Week 4, Week 8).
It also tracked 2 secondary outcomes, for example Change in Skin Hydration and Change in Facial Transepidermal Water Loss (TEWL).
What This Means in Plain Language
Put simply, this is a not phased, randomized trial of Vitamin D, K2, Magnesium and Zinc in 36 people with anti-aging & longevity.
Its size is small, so on its own it can only give an early look.
The trial is marked completed; no results are posted to the registry yet, so nothing here describes outcomes.
