What This Study Did, in Plain Language
What Was Tested
The trial (phase 2) is built around Abaloparatide for osteoporosis and bone density.
The goal of this clinical trial is to determine the change in VBQ score, T score, TBS, and Hounsfield Units (HU) after 3-6 months of treatment with abaloparatide in osteoporotic patients who will undergo spinal fusion and decompression for lumbar degenerative disease.
Participants will undergo a presurgical assessments and trained in clinic on the subcutaneous application of abaloparatide.
It had 1 arm (groups): Abaloparatide (experimental).
3-6 months of self-administered abaloparatide in osteoporotic patients will undergo spinal fusion and decompression for lumbar degenerative disease.
The registry classes the interventions as drug.
Who Took Part
Enrollment: 60 planned participants were the target.
It was open to people of any sex aged from 50 years with no upper age limit.
Healthy volunteers were not accepted; participants needed the condition being studied.
Examples of who could join: Diagnosis of Osteoporosis based on the following criteria:. Fragility fracture (low trauma fracture similar to a fall from a standing position except for fracture to the skull, face, fingers, and toes). T score \<-2.5. Lumbar Degenerative Disease as evidenced by a diagnosis of spondylosis, spondylolisthesis, degenerative disc disease with spinal stenosis, and degenerative scoliosis. Have or be willing to have a DEXA scan, lumbar MRI, and lumbar CT within 3 months of the start of Abaloparatide.
The full record lists 8 inclusion and 5 exclusion criteria; among the exclusions: previous lumbar surgery; past medical history of: sarcoma, including osteosarcoma, paget disease or other skeletal malignancies, unexplained elevations of alkaline phosphatase, prior external beam radiation, and pre-existing hypercalcemia; diagnosis of secondary osteoporosis.
How the Study Was Run
The set-up was single-group and open-label.
Being open-label, the Abaloparatide study did not mask who received what.
Everyone received the same intervention, so there was no separate comparison group inside the trial.
It started in 2026-06-18 with completion listed for 2028-06-01.
It ran at 1 site in United States.
Its stated primary purpose is treatment.
What Was Measured
It also tracked 4 secondary outcomes, for example Surgical Complications, Surgical Complications, Surgical Complications and Surgical Complications.
What This Means in Plain Language
Put simply, this is a phase 2 trial of Abaloparatide in 60 people with osteoporosis and bone density.
Its status is enrolling by invitation; no results are posted to the registry yet, so nothing here describes outcomes.

Our Notes on the Compound
Abaloparatide: A synthetic parathyroid hormone-related peptide (PTHrP) analog used as a bone-building (anabolic) osteoporosis medicine.
