What This Study Did, in Plain Language

What Was Tested

In this phase 1 trial, researchers set out to test Eloralintide.

The main purpose of the study is to measure and compare the effects of eloralintide and placebo on insulin sensitivity (how your body responds to insulin), metabolic health (things like sugar and cholesterol), and body weight in participants with obesity or overweight.

For each participant, the study will last about 35 weeks and include 3 in patient visits totaling 7 days.

It had two arms (groups): Eloralintide (experimental) and Placebo (placebo comparator).

Eloralintide administered subcutaneously (SC).

Placebo administered SC.

The registry classes the interventions as drug and other.

Who Took Part

Enrollment: 115 planned participants were the target.

It was open to people of any sex aged from 18 years up to 70 years.

Healthy volunteers could join, not only people with the condition.

Examples of who could join: Have an hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) value at screening of less than 6.5 percent (%). Have a body mass index between 25 and 45 Kilogram per Square Meter (kg/m²). Are individuals assigned male at birth (AMAB) or assigned female at birth (AFAB). Individuals of childbearing potential (IOCBP) and individuals not of childbearing potential (INOCBP) may participate in this study.

The full record lists 4 inclusion and 10 exclusion criteria; among the exclusions: have acute or chronic pancreatitis or a history of acute idiopathic pancreatitis; have a prior or planned surgical treatment for obesity. exceptions: the following are allowed if they occurred more than 1 year before screening:; cryolipolysis, or.

How the Study Was Run

The set-up was randomized, parallel-group and double-blind.

Random assignment meant chance, not the researchers, decided who got Eloralintide and who got the comparison, which limits bias.

Groups ran in parallel: each of the participants stayed in one arm throughout.

Blinding on both sides kept the participants and researchers unaware of who received Eloralintide.

Those kept unaware of assignments: participant and investigator.

It started in 2026-06-24 with completion listed for 2027-08.

It ran at 2 sites in Germany (1) and Sweden (1).

Its stated primary purpose is treatment.

What Was Measured

The main thing measured (primary outcome): Change From Baseline In Hyperinsulinemic Euglycemic Clamp (HEC) Predicted Clamp-Derived Insulin Sensitivity (M-value) (time frame: Baseline, Week 24).

It also tracked 1 secondary outcome, for example Change From Baseline In Body Weight.

What This Means in Plain Language

Put simply, this is a phase 1, randomized trial of Eloralintide in 115 people.

It is still recruiting; no results are posted to the registry yet, so nothing here describes outcomes.

Our Notes on the Compound

Eloralintide: An investigational selective amylin-receptor agonist studied in once-weekly phase 2 obesity trials.
