What This Study Did, in Plain Language

What Was Tested

In this phase 1 trial, researchers set out to test Eloralintide.

The main purpose of this study is to evaluate how eloralintide (LY3841136) effects the way the body processes oral contraceptive in female participants with obesity or overweight.

For each participant, the study will last about 8 months and will include 3 stays in the Clinical Research Unit (CRU), each lasting between 6 - 8 nights.

It had 1 arm (groups): Eloralintide and combined oral contraceptive (experimental).

Eloralintide administered subcutaneously (SC), combined oral contraceptive administered orally.

The registry classes the interventions as drug.

Who Took Part

34 planned participants were the target.

It was open to women only aged from 18 years up to 60 years.

Healthy volunteers could join, not only people with the condition.

Examples of who could join: Are individuals AFAB who are individuals of childbearing potential using non-hormonal methods of contraception, or individuals not of childbearing potential. Have safety laboratory test results within normal reference range for the population or investigative site. Have a body mass index (BMI) within the range of 27.0 to 35.0 kilograms per square meter (kg/m²), inclusive. Have had a stable body weight, with less than 5 percent (%) change during the 3-month period prior to screening.

The full record lists 4 inclusion and 9 exclusion criteria; among the exclusions: have known risks of arterial or venous thrombotic diseases; are pregnant or intend to become pregnant or to breastfeed during the study.

How the Study Was Run

It was run as a single-group and open-label study.

Nothing was hidden in this open-label Eloralintide study: the participants and staff both knew the treatment.

Everyone received the same intervention, so there was no separate comparison group inside the trial.

It started in 2026-09-15 with completion listed for 2027-06.

It ran at 2 sites in United States (2).

Its stated primary purpose is basic science.

What Was Measured

Primary outcome: PK: Maximum Concentration (Cmax) of Ethinyl Estradiol and Levonorgestrel (time frame: Baseline through Day 128). PK: Time to Maximum Concentration (Tmax) of Ethinyl Estradiol and Levonorgestrel (time frame: Baseline through Day 128).

What This Means in Plain Language

Put simply, this is a phase 1 trial of Eloralintide in 34 people.

Its size is small, so on its own it can only give an early look.

It is still recruiting; no results are posted to the registry yet, so nothing here describes outcomes.

Our Notes on the Compound

Eloralintide: An investigational selective amylin-receptor agonist studied in once-weekly phase 2 obesity trials.
