What it is
Pure nicotine as a signaling tool, separated from smoking and vaping. The bolus delivery and additives of those products are blamed for the addiction and harm.
Mechanism (as described)
- Activates α7 nicotinic receptors, an anti-inflammatory reflex that lowers TNF-α and IL-6.
- On blood vessels: eNOS/nitric oxide, VEGF, endothelial progenitor mobilization, new vessel growth.
- Neuroprotection.
Additional points (as described)
- Heart and vessels: α7 receptors on vessel lining raise nitric oxide and VEGF, mobilize progenitor cells, and lower TNF-α/IL-6.
